Understanding the Public IB 4-Level Payout Structure
The Public Introducing Broker (IB) program allows you to earn commission based on trading activity, not just referrals.
This means you do not get paid simply for bringing someone to the broker. Instead, you earn commissions when the traders you introduced actively trade in the market.
The more trading activity your network generates, the more commission you can earn.
How You Earn Commissions
Once someone you introduced begins trading with real money, their trades start counting toward your commission.
In trading, positions are measured in something called a lot.
A lot is simply the size of a trade.
Traders often trade in different sizes, but as their trades accumulate and equal one full lot of completed trading, it counts toward commission.
What “Round Trip” Means
Commissions are based on something called a round-trip lot.
A round trip simply means a trade that has been opened and then closed.
For example:
A trader opens a trade
Later they close that trade
Once the trade is finished, it counts toward the trading volume used to calculate commissions.
The 4 Levels Explained
The IB program has four levels, which represent how traders are connected to you in the referral network.
| Level | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | Traders you personally referred |
| Level 2 | Traders referred by someone you referred |
| Level 3 | Traders referred by Level 2 |
| Level 4 | Traders referred by Level 3 |
This means your network can grow beyond just the people you personally introduce.
Commission Per Level
Each level pays a commission based on the trading activity generated at that level.
| Level | Commission Per Completed Lot |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | $1.00 |
| Level 2 | $1.20 |
| Level 3 | $0.90 |
| Level 4 | $0.90 |
As traders in your network continue trading, their activity contributes toward the commission you receive.
Example of How This Could Work
Imagine your network of traders collectively generates around 1,000 completed lots of trading volume in a month.
Depending on how that activity is spread across the levels, earnings could potentially be around $1,000 or more for that month.
Actual results will vary depending on how many traders are active and how often they trade.
Simple Summary
• You introduce traders to the broker
• When they trade live money, their trades generate volume
• That volume creates commission
• You can earn from up to four levels of your network
The more active traders in your network, the greater the potential earnings.
